I’ve been a fan of sci-fi metal act Powerman 5000 since the old days—we’re talking all the way back to 1999 with the release of Tonight the Stars Revolt! Time travel forward to 2014 and PM5K has just unleashed Builders of the Future. To help promote the release, the band has launched an interesting microsite at pm5kcorp.com which allows fans the opportunity to fuse their likeness with a mechanized creature from the future.
While the site’s UI could be a bit more robust—the interface appears a bit basic—it’s the concept here that really deserves recognition. Excited to see a band engage fans in an innovative way, while also providing a tie-in to their unique musical DNA.
