Earlier this week, I came across a fantastic site aptly titled, Metal Band Art, run by designer and Metal art curator, Rodney Githens. Mr. Githens covers . . . covers,
and features a wide collection of art, illustrations, and interviews from a variety of
bands and fellow designers. Rodney boasts an impressive resume, having completed graphics for the likes of Kylesa, TOOL and Slayer – there’s no doubt this guy keeps
his finger on the pulse of what’s going on in Metal design, and his blog serves as
a great living archive for those interested in a genre of music known for pumping
out packaging and imagery that takes no prisoners.
